Vitamin B12 is only produced by bacteria and can only be found naturally in animal products. Vitamin B12 exists in several forms and contains the mineral cobalt. Like the other B vitamins, vitamin B12 is important for metabolism. It also helps form red blood cells and maintain the central nervous system.
